This is delivered as a 3-hour live, online session, or face-to-face workshop. Participants will learn how to:
- Navigate the Teams interface, desktop and browser versions.
- State differences between ‘teams’, ‘channels’, ‘private chat’, ‘channel conversation’, etc.
- View and change personal Teams settings for notifications, busy status, Out of Office, etc.
- Create and manage teams (if you have permission), how to structure them, etc.
- Create and manage channels for different topics, issues, projects, etc.
- Use ‘Team (channel) Chat’ and ‘Private Chat’ using mentions, tags, etc.
- Share your Outlook email with Teams a number of ways.
- Save/bookmark chats and messages for following up.
- Share, view and edit documents in Teams, see version history of documents, etc.
- Organise and manage online/video meetings, presentations, etc..
- Take notes, use virtual whiteboard, share files, etc, during meetings.
- Use shortcuts to mute / unmute all attendees, toggle cameras, and more.
- Use the Teams Tasks Planner to manage simple projects, assign tasks etc.
- Use best-practice for how to set up Teams for your organisation.
- Ask your specific questions.

This is delivered as a 3-hour live, online session, or face-to-face workshop. Participants will learn how to:
General Advanced Features:
- Quick review of the Essentials session, and latest features and updates (keyboard shortcuts, best-practice, etc.
- Change advanced settings: default to desktop apps, notifications for planner task assignments and for comments on shared files, etc.
- Work with advanced file-sharing features: add a file/document as a tab and why, synchronise files in Teams with File Explorer, etc.
- Integrate Outlook email better with Teams: show email Inbox in Teams, email to channel, share to teams, share to Outlook, move emails and attachments into Teams, etc.
- More on Project Planner: add Planner to Teams to consolidate all projects, add to Planner tasks to Outlook calendar, etc.
Teams Meetings / Presentations Advanced Features:
- Review of initial setting up of Teams meetings/presentations.
- Set up advanced features in Teams meetings: Break-out rooms, webinar features, whiteboard, registration required or not, setting up or restricting co-presenters, lobby admission or automatic joining, best-practice, etc.
- Use advanced features in running Teams meetings: Sharing ‘Screen’ or ‘Window’, handing over to co-presenter, using whiteboard, record meeting notes using Wiki app.
- Use PowerPoint ‘Live’ rather than ‘normal’ PowerPoint.
- Get feedback: use polls and surveys during and after meetings.
- Review and followup: record meetings, send recording link to attendees, view/report attendee list.
