We cater for all versions and experiences. All courses are hands-on, and you can bring along your questions or documents to play with if you wish.

Word – Basics


Detailed Content

This is a 1-day hands-on, face-to face course, and participants will learn how to:

  • Describe Word’s screen layout and navigate the screen easily.
  • Make it easier to find and use Word’s buttons and functions.
  • Set up a document (page, margins, etc).
  • Type simple text.
  • Save and open documents.
  • Navigate around the document and select text using shortcuts.
  • Carry out simple text editing tasks.
  • Look at different views of the page.
  • Cut, copy, paste text and drag text.
  • Apply paragraph and text formatting to improve presentation.
  • Use Undo and Redo.
  • Use spell-checks and AutoCorrect.
  • Print and output documents to PDF.

Flexible Options

Courses are delivered in our training rooms, or can be conducted in your training room onsite, or as live, online sessions. And content/outcomes can be customised/tailor-made to your requirements.

  • Apply borders and shading.
  • Create, format and work with tables better for advanced layouts.
  • Import and format graphics (clipart, digital images, business graphics).
  • Apply special effects and proper text wrap around images.
  • Use and edit AutoCorrect and QuickParts AutoText.
  • Add headers and footers.
  • Conduct search and replaces.

This was my first live online training, I was skeptical in the lead up however have enjoyed it as there were no distractions from other participants. Being able to watch the process while it was being explained I think is good, as often I get lost in trying to do what is required and miss some of the instructions!

Now I will be able to use word more effective as a word processor especially with dot points, margins and the spacing of documents and tables. I always had trouble with dot points and extra information that I add in, but now I will have more control of that. Thank you for a great presentation and the cheat sheets that I will keep nearby.
